This position is based out of Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, CO.



Position Summary



This position supports performance management by providing data based guidance and expertise to department leadership and hospital administration. Compiles, formats, analyzes, evaluates, and reports data to be used in performance measurement and organizational decision making. Designs and supports data collection, analysis, and reporting to provide hospital leadership with accurate information upon which to base operational decisions. Functioning as an internal consultant, this position prepares clinical outcome statistical analysis, service line analyses, operational analysis and benchmarking data. Performs data abstraction, variance tracking and data support to various sources. Establishes and maintains systems and procedures to organize and standardize incoming data. Serves as liaison between the Quality department and department leadership.



Minimum Education Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Healthcare or related field



Minimum Experience Requirements




  • Three years of related database management experience

  • Experience setting up, managing and interpreting databases

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Healthcare and Decision Support experience, preferred

  • EMR and statistical software experience, preferred

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )




  • Responsible for designing and supporting all related databases and reporting tools.*

  • Extracts and interprets operations data for reporting to hospital leadership, medical staff, board and others as requested.*

  • Analyzes all data for benchmark program and productivity reporting and prepares and analysis reports.*

  • Completes timely data analysis and presentation and makes recommendations on decisions based on that analysis.*

  • Completes regular reports as requested.*

  • Maintains confidentiality for all patient and organizational information.  *

  • Promotes a team environment, willing to assist others, and responds timely to all information requests. *

  • Participates in strategic planning and quality improvement for the organization.  *

  • Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census and staffing through priority setting and flexibility. *

  • Demonstrates effective time management and is proactive in prioritizing workload and meeting productivity requirements. *
