Position Summary



Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of specified Community Health operations including public benefits navigation (Medicaid, Medicare), enrollment, and outreach efforts to support population health activities. Leverages the Centura Health mission to promote community health initiatives by providing operational leadership of functional work teams. Responsible for ensuring processes are completed in timely, efficient, and compliant manner ensuring quality customer service and accurate processing. Collaborates with community health leaders to identify opportunities for improved processes and client access.



Minimum Education Requirements




  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred



Minimum Experience Requirements




  • 3 years customer service and/or supervisory experience; demonstrated experience in leading teams and directing the work of technicians; medical office experience with insurance procedures and client interaction desired. Experience with determining public benefit eligibility for Medicaid and/or Medicare beneficiaries. Effective communication and problem solving, and decision making abilities. Ability to collect, synthesize and research complex or diverse information.

  • Knowledge of Government eligibility program requirements is highly desirable.

  • Experience with customer relationship management software and Microsoft Office suite preferred.

  • Bilingual preferred.



License/Certifications




  • Green Belt preferred



Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )




  • Oversees the daily operations and the achievement of standards related to quality and accuracy of services and information delivered to our clients.*

  • Develops and maintains department reporting, individual reporting (including quality, quantity, and telephone metrics), and assist in regular grant reporting.*

  • Provides continual evaluation of processes, procedures, and reporting. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers.*

  • Provides daily direction and communication to employees so that customer service is provided in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner.*

  • Creates and maintains a high-quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level.*

  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability understand users’ questions and effectively disseminate technical information is essential.*

  • Actively seek to promote and help maintain a positive professional, team-oriented and service conscious environment which contributes to the goals of the department and reflects the values of the system.*

  • Adheres to annual budget goals and guidelines.*

  • Supervises day-to-day work requirements and responsibilities for identified staff/teams.*

  • Recommends hiring of new employees, transfers, promotions, salary actions, terminations.*

  • Conducts regular performance management (reviews and improvement) activities, documents mid-year and annual reviews.*

  • Supervises and carries out continuing education and regular training activities for staff.*

  • Promote Centura Health through events and presentations to education the community about departmental services.*

  • Identifies community outreach opportunities and coordinates schedule and staffing of events.*

  • Collaborates with other departmental leaders to carry out coordinated community outreach strategy.*

Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert/lift up to 10 lbs. force occasionally
